A Day at the Beach

For Memorial Day we headed down to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve (AKA the Tidepools) to check out the wild life. When we got there it was very crowded and we thought it was going to be a big mistake to go down to the beach. But it turned out to be fantastic! The tide was way out and the people had lots of different places to walk so it didn't seem crowded at all. The kids saw Hermit crabs, barnacles, muscles, starfish, fish, sea anemones, and crabs, and lots and lots of sea weed and other plants. Audrey touched everything and JJ touched almost nothing. Kaylee was the only one who got her shoes wet and Jay was the referee, I was the photographer. After walking on the tide pool rocks for about a half hour the kids put on a show up higher on the beach. Then we went home. It was a lot of fun, and we would go again, just not with Kaylee anytime soon, she didn't get the stay out of the water theme.

I totally want to go! I think we'll have to wait until Karen is three. She likes to "swim" too much to stay out of the water. Your kids are so cute!
